1. Introduction

This Copyright Policy outlines the intellectual property rights related to the content on the SFRD website and all related services, applications, and features (collectively, the "Portal"). We are committed to protecting our intellectual property and respecting the intellectual property rights of others.

2. Ownership of Content

  • SFRD Content: All original content, materials, features, and functionality on the SFRD Portal, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, audio, video, and the compilation thereof (excluding User-Generated Content as defined below), are the property of SFRD, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
  • Third-Party Content: Certain content on the Portal may be owned by third parties and licensed to SFRD. This content is also protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
  • User-Generated Content: Any content that users post, upload, publish, display, or transmit to the Portal (e.g., in forums, comments, patient stories) remains the intellectual property of the respective user or content creator. By posting such content, users grant SFRD a license to use that content as described in our ‘Terms of Service’.

3. Permitted Use of SFRD Content

You may access, view, download, and print copies of SFRD content for your personal, non-commercial use, provided that you:

  • Keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices.
  • Do not modify the content in any way.
  • Do not use the content in a manner that suggests an association with SFRD or any of our products, services, or brands without our express written consent.
  • Do not use the content in any unlawful manner.

4. Prohibited Uses

Unless expressly permitted by these Terms or with explicit written consent from SFRD, you must not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Portal, except for your personal, non-commercial use as described in Section 3.
  • Use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences, or any graphics separately from the accompanying text.
  • Delete or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices from copies of materials from this Portal.
  • Systematically retrieve data or other content from the Portal to create or compile, directly or indirectly, a collection, compilation, database, or directory without written permission from us.
  • Engage in any unauthorized commercial use of the Portal content.

If you wish to use any content from our Portal beyond what is permitted in this policy, you must obtain prior written permission from SFRD. Please contact us using the details as described in Section 9.

5. Trademarks

The SFRD name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of SFRD or its affiliates or licensors. You must not use such marks without the prior written permission of SFRD. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on this Portal are the trademarks of their respective owners.

6. Copyright Act, 1957 & Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000 Notice and Takedown Procedure

SFRD respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Copyright Act, 1957 and Information Technology Act, 2000 and other applicable laws, we will respond expeditiously to notices of alleged copyright infringement that are properly provided to our designated Copyright Agent.

If you believe that any content on the SFRD Portal infringes upon your copyright, please send a notification to the email described in Section 9 with the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material. Please provide specific URLs if possible.
  • Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address.
  • A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Upon receipt of a valid notification, SFRD will take whatever action, in its sole discretion, it deems appropriate, including removal of the challenged content from the Portal.

7. Repeat Infringers

It is the policy of SFRD to terminate the user accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
